Challenge
Hiring a trusted driver for your own vehicle in Kenya is still mostly informal — WhatsApp threads, unverified drivers, and no shared operational picture. The client needed a product-grade marketplace: separate owner and driver experiences, enforceable identity/document vetting, reliable job matching under load, and an admin/ops surface that could run finance, support, and safety without stitching tools together by hand.
Solution
We delivered a monorepo platform: Expo apps for owners and drivers, a Next.js marketing site with a specialist onboarding portal, a Next.js admin/ops console with RBAC, and an Express API backed by Postgres, Redis/BullMQ, and Socket.IO. Matching uses exclusive timed offers that expand by radius; auth supports dual personas with email OTP and portal 2FA; document onboarding enforces expiry policy and blocks reusing the same file across fields; and ops get a live command center for missions, SOS, tickets, and fleet context.
